Panel on "Saying No to Violence Against Women, Speaking Out and Not Remaining Silent" to be held in Xanthi
In a statement about the upcoming event, Vasiliki Pavlakaki, President of the Gender Equality Commission, emphasized the importance of tackling violence against women: “Violence against women is a deep wound in our society. The fight to eradicate this issue must be persistent and unyielding. The initiative of the Gender Equality Commission of the Eastern Macedonia and Thrace Region is directed towards all women who have experienced any form of violence. Our goal is to encourage women to break their silence and remind them that they are not alone, while also raising awareness among all citizens in our region. Through this panel, we aim to inform the public and promote awareness about ending violence and fostering true gender equality. Everyone has a role to play in this struggle.”
The panel will feature guest speakers, including Psychologist Frosso Patsu, Social Worker Stella Yalama, President of the Xanthi Bar Association Despina Hatzifotiadu, and President of the Drama Women's Association Aliki Tsiamura. The event will be organized in cooperation with the Xanthi Bar Association and will be open to the public.
