Mufti of Xanthi Mustafa Trampa issues message on the Night of Qadr

The Mufti of Xanthi, Mustafa Trampa, has issued a written message on the occasion of the blessed Night of Qadr, which will be observed in all mosques in Western Thrace, as in the rest of the Islamic world.
In his message, Mufti Trampa extended his greetings to the Muslim Turkish Minority of Western Thrace and the entire Islamic world, stating:
"THE NIGHT OF QADR, WHEN THE HOLY QUR’AN WAS REVEALED"
Dear Muslim Turkish Brothers and Sisters,
We are now experiencing the final days of the holy month of Ramadan, a season of divine mercy, blessings, and purification bestowed upon us by Almighty Allah. This sacred month also contains the Night of Qadr, when the Holy Qur’an was revealed. As stated in the Qur’an, the Night of Qadr is “better than a thousand months.” This year, we will observe this holy night on Wednesday, March 26, 2025.
Allah the Almighty describes the Night of Qadr in Surah Al-Qadr as a night when angels descend upon the earth, a night of peace and salvation that is better than a thousand months:
"Indeed, We sent the Qur’an down during the Night of Qadr. And what can make you know what the Night of Qadr is? The Night of Qadr is better than a thousand months. The angels and the Spirit descend therein by permission of their Lord for every matter. Peace it is until the emergence of dawn."
The Holy Qur’an, which was revealed on this sacred night, is a guide that leads humanity from darkness to light.
The Qur’an teaches us about life, the universe, our Creator, and the purpose of our existence. It introduces us to truth, wisdom, justice, compassion, morality, and all the values that beautify the world. It provides guidance for a virtuous and dignified life and for building a just and peaceful world.
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
We can truly honor the Night of Qadr only by recognizing the value of the Qur’an. Let us take this opportunity to strengthen our connection with the Qur’an—reading it more, striving to understand it, and living by its teachings. Let us use this night as an occasion for self-reflection, seeking forgiveness for our sins, and committing to righteousness. If we spend our lives with the Qur’an, it will bring peace to our homes, tranquility to our hearts, and blessings to our lives. This is how we can benefit from the grace of this night, which is better than a thousand months. May Allah grant us the ability to make the most of it.
Respected Brothers and Sisters,
Let us use this night for deep reflection, reassessing our lives according to the Qur’an and the Sunnah. Let us evaluate our relationship with Allah, ourselves, our surroundings, and all creation. Let us establish our lives on the foundations of faith, devotion, justice, compassion, responsibility, and good character.
Our beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "Whoever prays on the Night of Qadr with faith and seeking reward from Allah, their past sins will be forgiven." He also advised us to recite the following prayer on this night:
"O Allah! You are Most Forgiving, and You love to forgive, so forgive me."
Dear Muslim Turkish Brothers and Sisters,
On this sacred Night of Qadr, when Allah’s mercy embraces the earth, let us sincerely repent for our sins and resolve never to repeat them. Let us include all of humanity in our heartfelt prayers, renewing our commitment to building a world free from hatred, envy, fear, despair, and discrimination—one based on trust, love, respect, brotherhood, and solidarity.
Let us especially pray for our oppressed brothers and sisters in various parts of the world, particularly in Palestine and Gaza, so that they may attain their rights and freedoms and celebrate Eid in peace. As the Muslim Turkish Minority of Western Thrace, let us also ask Allah for the restoration of our unjustly seized rights. Let us pray for the proper education of our youth so that they may grow into future leaders serving our community.
With these thoughts and feelings, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the Muslim Turkish Minority of Western Thrace, the entire Turkish nation, and the Islamic world on the occasion of the Night of Qadr. May Allah accept our fasting, prayers, and all acts of worship, and may this blessed night bring unity and solidarity to the Islamic world and peace to all of humanity.
Mufti of Xanthi, Mustafa Trampa
