Message from the Mufti of Gümülcine, İbrahim Şerif, for the upcoming Three Months and Regaib night

In his message, Mufti İbrahim Şerif provided important details about the three months and Regaib Night. He congratulated the Muslim Turkish Minority of Western Thrace on the blessed three months and the Regaib Night, praying for the salvation of all Muslims and humanity.
Mufti Şerif’s message included the following key points:
Dear Muslim Brothers and Sisters of Western Thrace,
On Wednesday, January 1, we will enter the blessed months of three months, a time when God’s mercy, forgiveness, and blessings are abundant. We thank Allah and welcome these holy days with the prayer of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him): “O Allah, make the months of Rajab and Sha’ban beneficial for us, and grant us to reach the month of Ramadan.”
The first of the three months, Rajab, will begin with the Regaib Night, observed on the night between Thursday, January 2, and Friday, January 3. These nights are an opportunity for Muslims to strengthen their unity and love for one another, living according to the verse of the Qur'an: “Hold firmly to the rope of Allah (the Qur’an) and do not be divided.”
Dear Muslim Brothers,
Regaib means great mercy, blessing, and generosity. The night of Regaib Night is a night when Allah’s mercy and forgiveness encompass those who sincerely pray and seek His help. Allah, in His mercy, accepts the repentance and prayers of His servants and forgives the sins of those who turn to Him. As the Qur'an says: “Call upon Me; I will respond to you.” Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) also stated: “There are five nights in which prayers are not rejected. The first Friday night of Rajab (Regaib), the 15th night of Sha’ban (Beraat), Friday nights, the nights of Ramadan, and the nights of Eid.”
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Time passes like water, and yesterday, with its mistakes and virtues, is gone. We cannot bring back the past days, nor do we have a guarantee for the coming days. The value of today is in our hands. Let us utilize these blessed days and nights to realize the importance of the time we have and strive to fulfill our duties as Allah expects. These sacred days are a perfect opportunity to reflect, question ourselves, and correct our behaviors.
During these three months and special nights, let us focus more on remembering Allah and sending blessings upon our beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). There are people who were with us last year but will not reach this night. Let us consider that this may be our last night of Regaib and try to fulfill our duties as Allah desires.
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
The upcoming three months and blessed nights should remind us of our duties and responsibilities to our Lord, our families, and our communities. They should lead us to repent for our mistakes and sins. Additionally, we should take this time to reconcile with our elders, check on our relatives and friends, care for the needy, and help those who are struggling. Personal grudges, divisions, and selfish motives should be put aside in favor of tolerance, brotherhood, and unity.
This year, to make the celebration of the three months and their special nights more joyful and meaningful, our Mufti's office is organizing programs in the mosques of Tuzçuköy, Bekirli, Domruköy, Delinasuhköy, Seymen, Evrenköy, and Ahrenpınar. We will experience the beauty of observing and reviving Regaib Night together.
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
May Allah bless the months of Rajab and Sha’ban for us, and may He allow us to reach Ramadan. I wish a blessed three-month period and Regaib Night to the Muslim Turkish Minority of Western Thrace, and I pray for the salvation of all humanity.
