Mass vaccinations against measles in the Municipality of Maroneia-Sapes
The measles vaccination campaign held on Thursday 23 May was successfully completed. The action was organised in cooperation with the National Public Health Organization (NPHO) and the Community Centre with a Roma annex of the Municipality of Maroneia-Sapes.
The mobile health unit of EODY, in the presence of the Head of the Coordination, Preparedness & Response Department, Ilias Liantis, visited the settlements of Arisvi and Isalos, providing vaccination services, while the action included a check of all children's health books regarding their measles vaccination coverage, regardless of whether they were fully vaccinated.
The activity attracted a large participation from the child population, ranging from 12 months to 14 years of age. The qualified staff of the Community Centre with Roma Annex contributed substantially to the smooth and successful completion of the process, drawing on their knowledge and experience.
This vaccination activity is part of our collective efforts to eradicate measles, protect public health and meet the needs of the vulnerable population. The cooperation of all stakeholders and the active participation of the community were essential for the success of this effort.
