Livestock breeders present their concerns to MP Özgür Ferhat
A delegation from the Rhodope Provincial Livestock Breeders Association met with Özgür Ferhat, a Member of Parliament for the New Left Party representing the Rhodope region, to convey the challenges facing animal breeders in the area.
The delegation was headed by Association President Dimitrios Grigoriadis and General Secretary Kariofili Gkioyzelidis. During the meeting, association officials outlined the difficulties encountered by livestock farmers operating in the Rhodope region.
The representatives highlighted problems arising from delays, shortcomings, and perceived injustices in compensation payments, stressing that the current situation poses a serious threat to the sustainability of livestock enterprises. They emphasized that the sector—one of the main pillars of the local economy and social cohesion—requires urgent, fair, and effective intervention.
MP Özgür Ferhat listened carefully to the demands raised and expressed his sensitivity to the issues facing livestock breeders. He briefed the delegation on the initiatives he has undertaken since the beginning of his parliamentary term, both at the institutional and parliamentary levels.
The New Left MP for Rhodope stated that he would raise the issues once again in Parliament and with the relevant ministries, reaffirming his commitment to pursuing concrete solutions and continuing his efforts to support livestock breeders in the region.
