Idea of touristic train services between Xanthi-Drama

The railway connecting the provinces of Xanthi and Drama is also planned to be used for tourism purposes. If the idea matures, the train journey that will start from Xanthi for tourism purposes will pass through Xanthi (İskeçe)-Toksotes (Okçular), Stavroupolis (Yeniköy), Paranesti and reach Drama.
It was noted that the train journey project for tourism purposes, where mutual flights will be made, is currently in the thinking and working on it stage.
Mayors of Xanthi and Drama, local administrators of the two provinces, who came together at the Train Museum in Drama, stated that it is planned to revive tourism within the framework of the cooperation between the two provinces.
As it will be remembered, the railway connecting Thessaloniki to Istanbul was built and put into service between 1893 and 1896 by the Ottoman Sultan Abdulhamid II.
