Hatim ceremonies continue in Xanthi
The hatim programs of the Qur'an Courses affiliated to the Elected Mufti of Xanthi continue.
Hatim ceremonies took place in Echinos (Şahin), Melivia (Elmalı) and Lefkopetra (Sakarkaya) on Sunday, June 18.
The hatim programs organized for the students who graduated from the Qur'an Courses operating under the Xanthi Mufti continue with all their enthusiasm.
As in other villages, the hatim ceremony held in Şahin village, which is the largest village of Xanthi, took place with intense participation.
Preacher Mustafa Trampa, representing the Mufti of Xanthi, made the Hatim prayer.
Greeting the congregation after the prayer, Mustafa Trampa conveyed the greetings of the Mufti of Xanthi Ahmet Mete, who could not attend the ceremony due to her illness.
Important messages were given in the speeches made at the Şahin Hatim Ceremony.
Miki (Mustafçova) Municipality Mayor Rıdvan Delihüseyin stated that the attempts of the ‘lady’ responsible for Xanthi Primary Schools to prevent and prohibit the use of primary school gardens for serving catering in hatim ceremonies held this year cannot be accepted.
Delihüseyin stated that the police's intervention on who came to the scene and opened the garden for use was unacceptable, especially since the school garden in Melivia (Elmalı) village was used to serve rice in the hatim ceremony, but the same police officers did not intervene in the same situation in Echinos (Şahin) village.
Expressing that the primary school gardens, which are Minority foundation property, have been used for serving rice in hatim ceremonies for years, Mayor Delihüseyin emphasized that both minority deputies should take an initiative to dismiss the authorized lady who tried to intervene in this situation, and that the minority should initiate a petition all together and show the reaction for this lady's dismissal.
He stated that as the Miki Municipal Council, they are planning to take a condemnation decision on this issue.
BURHAN BARAN
Two important issues drew attention in the speech of Deputy Burhan Baran, who took the floor at the Hatim ceremony.
Baran said that after the news of our compatriot who passed away in a work accident in Germany, a lawyer wrote that he tried to put the blame on the lawmakers first, and then tried to lure the businessmen, who made significant contributions to the economy of the region, into the swamp.
Baran said that members of the minority should be very careful in this regard.
Deputy Baran also described the recent developments in the political field in Komotini as a political syndrome and stated that they will not allow this fire to spread to Xanthi.
For this reason, he emphasized that although they were of different parties and opinions, they paid great attention to such matters and acted together with Deputy Hüseyin Zeybek.
HÜSEYİN ZEYBEK
Deputy Hüseyin Zeybek, on the other hand, stated that very important points were emphasized in his speech and stated that the issue mentioned by the Mayor is very important.
Zeybek, who said that after the interventions in minority education, now it's time for the activities, but not to be discouraged, said that they will follow the issue and this will get through.
BARIŞ ÇULHA
Lastly, the deputy consul Barış Çulha representing the Consulate General of Turkey in Komotini Murat Ömeroğlu conveyed his greetings and expressed his pleasure to be together with the compatriots at such an event.
Çulha congratulated the students, teachers and their families.
After the noon prayer, traditional pilaf was served.
After the mosque, the Vice-Consul, Mayor, Deputies and representatives of other institutions visited the newly elected foundation management of Şahin village and wished them success in their duties.
Sami Palikar, the new Chairman of the Foundation Board of Şahin village, also thanked those who paid a courtesy visit and stated that they will try to provide the best service to Şahin village together with other young friends selected for their new duties.
