Event in Xanthi to raise awareness about school bullying
The Gender Equality Committee of the Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, in collaboration with the Volunteer Blood Donors Association of Xanthi "Reach Out Your Hand," is organizing an event focused on school bullying. The event will take place at the Xanthi Municipal Amphitheater on Wednesday, 9 April 2025, at 11:00 a.m.
FOCUS ON CHILDREN AND EDUCATION
According to committee president Vasiliki Pavlakaki, the initiative underscores the organization’s commitment to addressing critical social issues—especially those involving children and education. “The goal of this event is to raise awareness about the effects of school bullying. Everyone’s participation is vital in tackling this issue and promoting a safe, supportive environment for all students,” she stated.
KEYNOTE SPEAKERS AND ACTIVITIES
Speakers will include Dimitrios Mourtetzikoglou, deputy commander of the Security Department; Evmorfia Stylianidou, director of Primary Education; and Stella Argyriou, an educational and developmental psychologist. The event will also feature a screening of the short film The Blue Glasses, followed by a musical performance by students from Xanthi’s 9th Kindergarten and the Special Vocational Education and Training School (E.E.E.E.K.) of Xanthi.
As part of the initiative, students will receive a free copy of Two Different Days, One Book Against Bullies, written by Tasos Konstantinidis.
WIDE PARTICIPATION FROM LOCAL SCHOOLS
The event will be attended by several schools, including the 1st Minority Primary School of Kimmeria, and the 2nd, 6th, 8th, 9th, 11th, 12th, 13th, and 18th Primary Schools of Xanthi, as well as the AXION Schools.
