Following the detection of a rapidly spreading subtype of the mpox virus in Africa, which was first identified in Europe on August 15 in Sweden, Greece has decided to take preventive measures. In response, EODY will be opening five vaccination centers in the coming days, located in Thessaloniki, Alexandroupoli, Crete, Patras, and Athens.

According to EODY’s statement, vaccinations against the mpox virus subtype began on July 22, 2024, at Attiki and Andrea Siggros hospitals. High-risk groups are encouraged to register for vaccinations through the EODY website.
