In response, the municipality has issued guidelines for residents on how to protect themselves from the virus.

The Kozlukebir Municipality's recommendations for protection against the virus are as follows:

  1. Use insect repellent when outdoors.
  2. Wear long-sleeved clothing and pants during dusk, when mosquitoes are most active.
  3. Install or repair window and door screens, and use air conditioning if available.
  4. Reduce the number of mosquitoes around your residence by draining standing water from flower pots, gutters, buckets, pool covers, pet water bowls, and birdbaths.
  5. Special care should be taken by the elderly, immunocompromised individuals, and those with chronic conditions, as they are at higher risk of severe illness.

These preventive measures are crucial for minimizing the risk of West Nile virus infection in the community.
