Kozlukebir Mayor requests extension of employment support programs
The event, titled “Programs for Strengthening Employment and Empowering Local Communities,” brought together government officials and regional representatives to discuss policies aimed at reducing unemployment and supporting local economies.
Among the key speakers were Greece’s Minister of Labor and Social Security, Niki Kerameus, and the governor of the Public Employment Service, DYPA, Gianna Hormova. During the conference, officials presented current initiatives designed to promote employment opportunities and strengthen local communities.
During his participation, Mayor Erdem emphasized the critical role these programs play in the region of Arriana. He noted that employment initiatives have contributed significantly to job creation while also providing social and economic support for local residents.
The mayor also expressed the municipality’s strong request for an extension of existing programs, as well as the development of new employment initiatives tailored to the specific needs of remote and socially vulnerable regions.
According to Erdem, continuing and strengthening such initiatives is essential for addressing unemployment, supporting the local economy, and maintaining social cohesion in the area.
On the sidelines of the event, the mayor also held discussions with Greece’s Deputy Minister of Digital Governance, Christos Dertmenzopoulos, regarding development prospects for the region.
He also met with Elena Sokou, who reportedly expressed her intention to visit Arriana Municipality in the near future to discuss development priorities and the needs of the local community.
