Engineer İbrahim Kamil announces his candidacy

Engineer İbrahim Kamil announced on his social media account that he will run for the Region Assembly of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace from the New Regional Rebirth List led by the current president Hristos Metios in the state elections to be held on 8 October 2023.

İbrahim Kamil, who announced his decision by sharing a photo with President Metios, stated the following in his candidacy announcement.

"Honourable Friends,

Until today, I have tried to stay relatively far away from politics due to the intensity of my work. However, I have always been close to our people, institutions and organisations of our minority. I have tried to produce remedies and solutions to their problems and troubles to the extent of my own power. But in this process, I have seen that the solution to many problems is based on politics. I have come to the conclusion that it is necessary to take part in the political arena in order to serve solution-oriented to the problems of our friends, friends, in short, all our people.

For a long time, I have been receiving a nomination offer from my friend Mr. Christos Metios, the current President of the Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, for the membership of the provincial council. I share with the whole public that I responded positively to his offer in the meeting we had with him on Thursday, 20 July, and that I am a candidate for the membership of the provincial council of the province of Rhodope from the New Regional Rebirth List headed by Mr. Christos Metios in the elections to be held for local governments on 8 October 2023. 

I expect your strong support with the belief that we will be stronger together and that you will not withhold this power from me."
