EMT Region Ombudsman visits Topsidis
Yorgos Kimbaridis, a lawyer registered at the Komotini Bar Association, who was elected Ombudsman for Citizens and Business of the Prefecture of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, visited President Christodoulos Topsidis, at his residence.
State President Topsidis congratulated Mr. Kimbaridis, a lawyer from Komotini, on his election as Ombudsman and wished him great success in his new position. "The Regional Ombudsman is an institution we respect and honour, as serving citizens and businesses is a top priority of our administration, which has a people-centred orientation," Topsidis said. "Our aim is to resolve situations concerning citizens and businesses - not only those related to the Eastern Macedonia and Thrace region - as quickly as possible and through appropriate legal means. I am confident that Mr Kymbaridis, as a person who knows his responsibilities, will fulfil his duties and obligations extremely well."
ELECTED WITH 36 VOTES
Lawyer Yorgos Kimbaridis was elected Ombudsman for Citizens and Business for the Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace in a vote held on Wednesday 27 March at the 4th meeting of the Provincial Assembly of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace.
Kimbaridis was elected with 36 votes out of a total of 39 Region Assembly Members who voted. The other candidate, lawyer Yannoula Tsilifika, received two votes and one vote was blank.
