EFA President Lopez shows support to Xanthi Minority Secondary School and High School
Lorena Lopez, President of the European Free Alliance (EFA), made a statement about Xanthi Minority Secondary School - High School. Stating that education should be provided under the best conditions, Lopez said: "Minority people deserve the best of everything like other people."
Making a statement within the scope of the EFA Congress held in Strasbourg, France, Lopez referred to his visit to Western Thrace last April. Reminding that he also visited Xanthi Minority Secondary School and High School within this framework, Lopez said: "We were shocked when we saw the conditions under which children were receiving education in Xanthi minority school."
Noting that the Greek government was disturbed by the visit, the EFA President noted that the authorities did not do anything to solve the problem.
Stating that they stand by the EFA member FEP party and support their struggle on the issue of Xanthi Minority Secondary School - High School, Lopez said: "We know that education is a cornerstone for our societies. We think that education should be provided in the best conditions and in the most qualified way. Minority people deserve the best of everything like other people."
