A hatim ceremony was held on Sunday, September 6, for nine students who completed their Qur’an studies at the Ahiriyan Neighborhood Mosque in İskeçe.

The students were taught by Qur’an instructors affiliated with the İskeçe Mufti’s Office. Hundreds of members of the Western Thrace Turkish community attended the ceremony, filling the mosque and sharing emotional moments as the students recited verses from the Qur’an and performed meaningful poems.

The local community came together to organize the ceremony, welcoming hundreds of guests and creating a festive atmosphere throughout the neighborhood.

Following the hatim prayer, İskeçe Mufti Mustafa Trampa delivered a brief address, describing the ceremony as an example of what the community can achieve through unity and solidarity.

Trampa congratulated the students, their families, their teachers and everyone who contributed to the successful organization of the ceremony. He also urged young people to protect and preserve their religious values, culture, history, traditions and customs.

Following Trampa’s remarks, İTB President Kerem Abdurrahimoğlu, DEB Party Deputy Chairman Bahri Belço, İskeçe Minority Middle and High School Board Chairman Ozan Ahmetoğlu and İskeçe independent MP Hüseyin Zeybek each delivered brief welcoming speeches.
