Eastern Macedonia and Thrace launches Tourism Participation and Cooperation Platform
The Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace has taken an innovative step in the field of tourism with the launch of the “Tourism Participation and Cooperation Platform.” The platform offers a space where stakeholders from the tourism sector and civil society can share ideas, make proposals, and actively engage in the planning process.
At the platform’s presentation, Regional Governor Christodoulos Topsidis emphasized the importance of collective responsibility in tourism, stating:
“Tourism is a responsibility we all share. With this platform, tourism will become more dynamic, strategic, and participatory. Our goal is to design tourism not from offices, but within society itself—respecting each region’s identity, extending tourism across the entire area, and creating value for everyone.”
Governor Topsidis invited all tourism stakeholders to join the platform and contribute in real time to the region’s tourism planning.
The operational details of the platform were presented by Deputy Regional Governor for Tourism Panayiotis Arhontis and strategic tourism planning consultant Iosif Parsalis.
According to the organizers, the platform offers several key advantages:
- Strengthening cooperation in the tourism sector;
- Establishing a permanent communication channel among stakeholders;
- Encouraging the exchange of knowledge and experience through participation and proposals;
- Providing continuous updates on tourism strategies;
- Allowing involvement in decision-making processes through modern digital tools;
- Amplifying the voices and suggestions of tourism stakeholders.
Designed for easy and direct participation, the platform enables users to submit ideas, track proposals, and view feedback from other participants. With this initiative, the Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace aims to create an outward-looking, resilient, and continuously developing tourism destination.
