Dr. Sadik Ahmet Panel in Keşan
Dr. Sadik Ahmet, the leader of the Western Thrace Turks and the founder of the FEP Party, was commemorated with the panel held in Keşan on Saturday, January 7th.
Before the bridge-junction ceremony, which will bear the name of Sadik Ahmet, the "Sadik Ahmet Panel", was held with the participation of the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye Mustafa Şentop, was held at the Ağadayı Hotel Meeting Hall in Keşan.
In the panel moderated by Trakya University Rector Erhan Tabakoğlu, Chairman of the Western Thrace Turks Advisory Board and Elected Mufti of Komotini İbrahim Şerif, Trakya University Balkan Research Institute Deputy Director Ali Hüseyinoğlu, Ankara University Faculty of Language and History – Geography Department of History lecturer Saadettin Yağmur Gömeç participated as speakers.
Mufti of İskeçe (Xanthi) Mustafa Trampa from Western Thrace, FEP Party Chairman Çiğdem Asafoğlu and party executives, representatives of minority institutions and organizations as well as Türkiye's Consul General to Komotini Aykut Ünal attended the panel.
Many fellow citizens from Western Thrace went to Keşan by buses and private vehicles to attend the panel and the bridge-junction naming ceremony.
Edirne Governor Kürşat Kırbıyık, Tekirdağ Governor Aziz Yıldırım, BBP President Mustafa Destici, university rectors, mayors and district governors in the region were among the participants of the panel in which the Sadık Ahmet family was also present.
After the panel, the bridge-junction naming ceremony, which will take the name of Dr. Sadik Ahmet, will take place.
