Deputy Baran: Xanthi Public Market be held on Friday!

Deputy Baran demanded that Xanthi Public Market be moved to Friday due to the Eid al-Adha.
Xanthi PASOK-KINAL Deputy Burhan Baran demanded that Xanthi Market, which coincides with the first day of Eid al-Adha (Saturday, 9 July), be held on Friday.
Baran gave the following statements in the letter he sent to the Municipality of Xanthi:
“This year, Eid al-Adha, the biggest religious holiday of Muslims, is on Saturday, July 9th.
At the same time, the public market takes place in our city of Xanthi (Xanthi) as every week on Saturday.
Therefore, I would like to make a request to the Mayor of Xanthi (Xanthi).
I request that our public market day, which is on Saturday, be moved to the day before, Friday, July 8, so that all Muslim citizens can easily do their shopping the day before the Eid, and so that the cognate marketer tradesmen can perform their religious duties without being deprived of their jobs.
The realization of such an action in our Western Thrace will set a good example for the municipality's authority, while it will be an indication that the Christian and Muslim citizens of our region live together in harmony.”
