Fifteen mayors from Germany welcomed by the Municipality of Xanthi
The main purpose of the visit was to strengthen ties between the two sides and exchange expertise on crucial issues of local governance, such as sustainable development and improving the daily life of citizens.
The German officials were given a tour of Xanthi's Old Town, accompanied by the Deputy Mayors of Culture and Tourism, where they were introduced to the area's rich cultural heritage. Following the tour, a working meeting was held in the City Council chamber with the Mayor of Xanthi, Eustratios Kondos, and all the deputy mayors. Discussions focused on key issues such as waste management, cultural promotion, boosting tourism, and the promotion of local products.
The meeting concluded with a positive atmosphere and commitments for future cooperation. An official dinner was also held in honor of the German visitors, providing further opportunities for dialogue and exchange of ideas.
