Tragic discovery made early Tuesday morning by a passerby.
A 46-year-old woman was found dead early on the morning of Tuesday, May 13, in the village of Peteinos in Xanthi, part of the Avdira municipality, bringing a tragic end to her life.
The woman was discovered hanged from a beam in the shed of an abandoned house, located in the yard of the property.
The body was found by a local resident passing by, who immediately notified the Xanthi Police Department.
Despite their swift response, authorities confirmed that the woman was already deceased by the time they arrived.
An investigation is underway by the Xanthi Police Directorate to determine the exact circumstances and causes of death.
According to initial reports, foul play has been ruled out, and all evidence points to suicide.
