Care unit for abused children in Alexandroupoli inagurated
The Abused Children Care Unit will operate with the aim of diagnosing and treating all cases of violence and abuse against children. The unit will serve the whole of the Region of Eastern Macedonia - Thrace. The unit is the first of its kind in northern Greece.
The unit, which was inaugurated in Alexandroupoli Hospital, was financed by ELIZA, the Association for the Protection of Abused Children. In her speech, Marina Karella, founding president of ELIZA, thanked all those who contributed to the creation of the unit, the hospital management and the paediatric department.
Elpidophoros Mandadakis, Head of the Paediatric Clinic of Alexandroupoli Hospital, expressed his satisfaction with the establishment of such a department and stated that the hospital is very excited to have a new unit.
