Bollywood film shooting in Xanthi: Captivated by the scenic beauty
The Bollywood movie Love, Between You and Me is currently being filmed in the Old Town of Xanthi and along the Nestos River. In a press conference held on Wednesday, November 6, the Indian production company Big Bat Films shared insights into the movie’s plot and reasons for choosing Xanthi. The producer, director, and cast addressed questions from local media, joined by Deputy Mayors M. Tsepelis and A. Tarenidis.
The romantic storyline influenced the choice of Greece as a filming location. Additional scenes will also be filmed in Attica and Lefkada. The film, lasting 2 hours and 10 minutes, will be released worldwide, including in India.
The cast expressed admiration for the area’s natural beauty, especially the Old Town, with its vibrant colors and narrow, cobblestone streets. "We chose locations like the Old Town and the Nestos River near Toxotes, and may also visit the monastery if time permits," the director explained.
A. Tarenidis noted the project brings "film tourism," encouraging viewers to locate Xanthi on the map and visit its scenic sites. Vicky Merkati from Filmsnroses, who has collaborated with Indian producers for six years, emphasized the value of promoting Greece through cinema, urging a united effort to showcase the country internationally.
