Barrage of arrests for drug law offences in Region Administration reports
More specifically, in two cases, on 19 and 26-6-2024, at the Port of Alexandroupolis, police officers of the Narcotics Department of the Alexandroupolis Security Sub-Directorate in cooperation with officers of the Central Port Authority of Alexandroupolis and with the assistance of the police drug detection dogs "JACK" and "LAIKA" of the Alexandroupolis Security Sub-Directorate arrested a foreigner and a domestic, because they were found in an I.X.E. car and in their possession a total of 10.9 grams of raw cannabis were found and seized.
Also in three cases, police officers of the Kavala Security Department and the Orfanos Kavala Police Station arrested on 25 and 26-6-2024 in areas of Kavala three nationals, who were found to possess a total of 14.1 grams of raw cannabis, which were seized.
In the sixth case, on 30-6-2024 in the afternoon at the Port of Samothrace, police officers of the Samothrace Police Department in cooperation with members of the First Port Department of Samothrace and with the assistance of the police drug detection dog "JACK" of the Alexandroupolis Security Sub-Directorate arrested a resident, because they found in his possession and seized a quantity of raw cannabis weighing 22.5 grams and a metal crusher.
The cases were submitted to the competent prosecutors, while the preliminary investigation of the six cases was carried out by the Alexandroupolis Security Sub-Directorate, the Kavala Security Department, the Samothrace Police Department and the Orfanos Kavala Police Station.
