Greek police launch road safety initiative at primary schools across Eastern Macedonia and Thrace
Uniformed personnel from the General Regional Police Directorate of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace visited primary schools across the region at the beginning of the new school year as part of an annual road safety awareness initiative.
Police officers distributed informational leaflets, educational materials and traffic-safety-themed bookmarks to young students and their parents as they arrived for the traditional school blessing ceremony marking the start of the academic year.
Police provide road safety advice to students and parents
The initiative was organized by the Headquarters of the Hellenic Police and aims to raise awareness among parents and students about road safety and safe movement in traffic.
Through the educational materials, police officers provided children with basic guidance on how to travel safely, emphasizing the importance of road safety from an early age.
The initiative forms part of broader efforts by the Hellenic Police to promote safer behavior among young road users and increase awareness among families during the school year.
School bus inspections to continue
In addition to the awareness activities, police carried out targeted inspections of school buses to ensure compliance with road safety requirements.
According to the General Regional Police Directorate of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, these inspections will continue throughout the school year.
The regional police directorate also extended its wishes to students, parents and teachers for a safe and successful new school year.
