Greek police seize 161.9 grams of cocaine in İskeçe (Xanthi)
The two suspects were arrested at noon on September 9, 2026, by officers from the Narcotics Enforcement Unit of the Xanthi Department of Crime Prosecution and Investigation. A case was filed against them for alleged violations of Greece’s legislation on controlled substances.
According to police, the arrests followed the assessment of information concerning the alleged trafficking of drugs by the two men.
Officers initially arrested one of the suspects after finding him riding a motorcycle. A search of the vehicle uncovered five packages containing a total of 45.3 grams of raw cannabis, which were seized along with the motorcycle and cash found at the suspect’s home.
Police then searched the home of the second suspect, where he was located and arrested. Officers seized several types of controlled substances and other items, including:
- 10 plastic packages containing 161.9 grams of cocaine
- 5 plastic packages containing 106.1 grams of raw cannabis
- 3 plastic packages containing 39.6 grams of synthetic cannabis
- 3 plastic packages containing 21.1 grams of MDMA/ecstasy
- 1 precision electronic scale
- 2 airtight plastic sealing bags
- 3 mobile phones
SUSPECTS TO APPEAR BEFORE PROSECUTOR
The two arrested men are expected to be brought before the Xanthi Public Prosecutor, while the preliminary investigation is being conducted by the Xanthi Department of Crime Prosecution and Investigation.
The case remains subject to the judicial process, and the suspects are entitled to the legal presumption of innocence.
