Announcement of the construction of two military complexes in Xanthi – Five in total across Thrace
The second phase of the Ministry of National Defense's Residential Program progresses with the construction of 13 military housing complexes in Thrace, with particular focus on the needs of Armed Forces personnel.
On April 1, 2025, the Deputy Minister of National Defense, Thanasis Davakis, signed the decision to award the contract for the construction of 13 military housing units in the Thrace region as part of the second phase of the Ministry’s Residential Program.
The decision involves the construction of military complexes in five locations across Thrace. Specifically, two complexes will be built in Orestiada, four in Didymoteicho, two in Komotini, two in Xanthi, and three in Samothraki.
Commenting on the project’s progress, Mr. Davakis stated, “We continue with quick and steady steps in implementing the second phase of the Residential Program, starting with Thrace, as announced by Minister Nikos Dendias. We are practically strengthening the housing infrastructure for Armed Forces personnel, showing in practice that we stand by the personnel and their families, recognizing the value of their work and their continuous contribution to the defense of our homeland.”
