Animal welfare events to be held in Komotini
The activities will take place in the city's main square on October 4-5 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., with participation from local elementary and middle school students.
Veterinarian İsmail Molla Ali Mehmet from the Komotini Animal Shelter, assistant veterinarian Evangeline Moutousidou, and certified dog trainers from the Greek General Dog Trainers Association, Babis Koukuzelis and Nikola Papastergiou, will educate students and other attendees about animal care and compassion. Antonis Liapis, president of the LAYMA Animal Lovers Association, will also be present.
For the children, artist Ilyana Kalenteridou will organize face-painting and collaborative drawing sessions.
The event will also highlight volunteerism. Theodore Batzakas will introduce Komotini's new award-winning volunteer application, designed to encourage residents to participate in volunteer activities. A presentation of the app will be held at Agia Paraskevi Park on October 5 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. as part of the 3rd WELL COME event series, led by trainers Batzakas and Moutousidou.
These events, organized in collaboration with the Komotini Municipality's Animal Shelter and the Departments of Culture and Youth, aim to promote love for animals and encourage volunteering. All residents are invited to attend.
