A new era for EEDEGE: Marianthi Malliaroudaki takes the helm with vision for women entrepreneurs and SMEs

A newly elected Board of Directors has been formed at the National Chamber Network of Greek Women Entrepreneurs (EEDEGE), with the aim of fostering collaboration among Chambers across the country and representing both major urban centers and regional areas.
Marianthi Malliaroudaki, the president of the Xanthi Chamber of Commerce and a distinguished figure in Greece’s business and institutional landscape, has officially assumed the presidency of EEDEGE, according to an official announcement by the organization.
Malliaroudaki was elected to the post back in April, receiving six votes from the nine-member council. She described the appointment as a great honor.
Commitment to Equal Opportunities and Professional Advancement
In an in-depth interview with Empros, Malliaroudaki emphasized that EEDEGE is committed to multi-faceted actions and strategies aimed at supporting every initiative that promotes equal opportunities and professional growth for women. She highlighted that the organization develops training programs designed to help women meet the evolving demands of the modern labor market.
She also stressed that one of the key priorities under her leadership will be strengthening mentoring programs. These will allow female entrepreneurs to connect, voice their concerns, and receive tailored support in areas where the need is greatest.
"A New Phase of Strategic Expansion"
The Network’s official announcement characterized Malliaroudaki’s appointment as a “milestone transition” to a new era of “meaningful engagement in public dialogue for the equal participation of women in economic life.” With a particular focus on Greece’s regions, the new Board aims to bridge the needs of large markets with those of local entrepreneurship.

Support for Women Entrepreneurs Amid Ongoing Challenges
Amid persistent challenges facing small businesses — from funding issues to the transition toward green and digital economies — the newly formed EEDEGE leadership has pledged to “stand by every woman entrepreneur seeking to grow,” as stated in the organization’s announcement. Drawing on her extensive experience in Xanthi, Malliaroudaki is expected to bring regional economic needs and realities into the national conversation.
As the new board begins its term, the key question remains: how will the promises of networking, education, and institutional representation translate into concrete results for the thousands of women who are doing business — or aspire to — in Greece in 2025?
