Özgür Ferhat meets regional education officials over schools and minority education
Rodopi MP Özgür Ferhat visited the Regional Directorate of Education for Eastern Macedonia and Thrace to discuss the condition of schools in the Rhodope (Rodopi) regional unit and issues concerning minority education at the start of the new academic year.
Ferhat met with Regional Director of Education Marigoula Kosmidou and Vasilios Simeonidis, head of the Minority Education Office, during the September 21 visit.
School staffing and operations discussed
The meeting focused on the overall situation of schools in the Rhodope (Rodopi) regional unit as the new school year gets underway, including school operations and various issues affecting the educational process.
Ferhat received information from education officials about staffing levels, the appointment process for contract teachers and other developments in the education sector.
According to a statement by Ferhat, the meeting also addressed the current situation of minority education and minority schools in the Rhodope (Rodopi) regional unit.
The participants exchanged views on the needs of educational institutions in the area and planned steps in the education sector for the coming period.
Ferhat said he would continue to closely monitor developments and needs related to education in the regional unit and maintain communication with schools and relevant authorities.
He also wished students, teachers and the wider education community a successful and productive academic year.
