600 American soldiers and attack helicopters arrive in Western Thrace

According to the news in the national press, it was stated that the USA, which aims to deploy the 1st Army Aviation Brigade, which mainly consists of attack helicopters in the Fort Hood region of Texas, USA, will send 600 more soldiers to the region in November.

Hundreds of armored vehicles, tanks and thousands of military personnel were deployed to the Alexandroupoli (Evros) Port in Western Thrace in accordance with the 5-year Defense Agreement signed by Greece and the USA last year.

According to the news, it was announced that the 1st Army Aviation Brigade, which mainly consists of attack helicopters in the Fort Hood region of Texas, USA, will deploy to Alexandroupolis Port in November.

The news also stated that a tank crew competition called “Hellenic Tank Challenge” will be held in the firing training exercise area in Kayalar (Petrohori) village between the crews of the Greek and American Land Forces in Xanthi.

600 US MILITARY IN ALEXANDROUPOLİS PORT

The senior commanders of the US 1st Infantry Division and the Greek 1st Army Aviation Brigade met with representatives of the Greek Army and the US Area Support Group in Stefanovikio recently. Brandon Marsh, head of the US Area support team in Greece, said the "MDCA", specifically Stefanovikio and Alexandroupoli, suggested that the US and Greece are two important locations for mutual use of attack helicopters.

According to the report, in accordance with the same agreement, it was stated that the United States of America will constantly deploy 600 military personnel at Alexandroupolis Port.
