18th Samothrace journalistic conference to take place on October 18-20
The date for the Samothrace Journalistic Conference has been announced by the Regional Governor of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, Mr. Christodoulos Topsidis, during a joint press conference with the President of the Panhellenic Federation of Journalists' Unions (P.O.E.S.Y.), Mr. Sotiris Triantafyllou, and the First Vice President, Mr. Giannis Voitsidis.
The 18th Samothrace Journalistic Conference will take place from October 18 to 20, 2024.
Mr. Topsidis emphasized that the decision of the Eastern Macedonia and Thrace administration is not only to organize the conference this year but also to make it a permanent and periodic event, based on decisions made by the Organizing Committee.
He also highlighted the importance of the conference and its role in advancing journalism in Greece, stating: "We consider the conference essential, and we are proud that through this initiative, we can contribute to the promotion of quality journalism in our country. It is widely acknowledged that quality journalism strengthens the functioning of democracy, which we all have a duty to support from our respective positions."
