Gümülcine prepares for winter as authorities review emergency plans

Gümülcine is stepping up preparations for the 2026–2027 winter season, with municipal services on standby for floods, snowfall and severe winds. Authorities also issued a strong warning against using Irish crossings during floods, following two reported deaths in Rhodope last year.
