Nearly 2,900 WWII shells recovered from Kavala port and safely destroyed

Two thousand eight hundred seventy-nine (2,879) World War II shells were collected on Wednesday morning from the sea area of the port of Kavala by a special team from the Navy’s Underwater Demolition Command.
