A major illegal weapons cache has been uncovered in the Korinthos region of the Peloponnese, where police found 174 firearms and more than 15,500 rounds of ammunition during a raid on a private residence.

According to a statement from the Hellenic Police, the operation was carried out by the Organized Crime Unit early Friday morning. One individual was arrested on charges of illegal possession of firearms.

The search of the suspect’s home revealed a massive weapons arsenal, including guns, knives, swords, bayonets, and silencers. Authorities also discovered a fully equipped ammunition workshop in the attic, used for manufacturing and reloading bullets of various calibers.

Greek State Broadcaster ERT reported that the property belongs to a retired Air Force officer, though this has not yet been officially confirmed by the police.

The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are looking into possible connections with arms trafficking networks.
