World’s most powerful passports of 2025 – Greece climbs in the rankings
According to the latest update of the Henley Passport Index, Greece now ranks 5th globally among countries with the most powerful passports for 2025. The country climbed from 6th to 5th place in just six months, overtaking traditional powerhouses like the United Kingdom (now 6th) and the United States, which dropped to 10th place.
The U.S., in fact, is now on the brink of falling out of the top 10 for the first time in the index’s 20-year history, as reported by CNBC.
Singapore Remains at the Top
Singapore continues to dominate the rankings, with its citizens enjoying visa-free access to 193 countries. In contrast, countries in the 10th position have visa-free access to 182 destinations.
India, while not among the top, marked the largest drop, falling from 77th to 85th place in just six months. Over the past decade, the UAE and China have made the most progress overall, each climbing 34 positions in the rankings.
At the bottom of the list remains Afghanistan, whose passport grants access to just 25 countries without a visa.
