The strike was called by the Civil Servants’ Confederation (ADEDY), the General Confederation of Greek Workers (GSEE), and the Workers’ Union affiliated with the Communist Party of Greece (PAME).

In Athens, demonstrators marched through the city before gathering in front of the Parliament building, protesting a proposed regulation that would allow employees to work 13-hour days for up to 37 days per year, and expressing broader concerns about the increasing cost of living.

During the protest, some participants carried Palestinian flags and chanted slogans in support of Palestine. A group of demonstrators also displayed a banner in front of Parliament expressing solidarity with the Palestinian people.
