The downpour in Greece caused floods and floods. In the country, which was exposed to the heaviest rainfall in its history, many houses and workplaces were flooded and frequent power cuts were experienced. On the other hand, due to the flooding of the Volos Hospital, health services, especially the chemotherapy department, were disrupted.

Greece faced heavy rainfall, which has never been seen before in the country. At the meeting held under the leadership of Prime Minister Kiryakos Mitsotakis with the participation of relevant ministers and Meteorological Department officials, measures to be implemented to combat the adverse weather conditions, which meteorological experts named "Daniel" and which are expected to affect the country for a week from today, were discussed.

HEAVIEST RAINFALL IN THE COUNTRY'S HISTORY
Meteorological experts attending the meeting stated that the rainfall seen in the country today is probably the strongest downpour in the country's history. Meteorological experts pointed out that such heavy downpours usually occur in October and November in the country, noting that heavy rain and wind will continue. At the meeting, the steps to combat the flood disaster were discussed, as well as measures to be taken to keep the roads to important areas such as hospitals open.

HOSPITAL FLOODED
The heavy rainfall that affected the country today had a negative impact especially on Volos, Pilio, Larisa and Skiathos Island in the Thessaly Region. Hundreds of houses and workplaces were flooded and dozens of vehicles were submerged. Due to the flooding of the Volos Hospital, health services, especially the chemotherapy department, were disrupted. Equipment and devices in the hospital were damaged.

POWER CUTS WERE EXPERIENCED
There were frequent power cuts throughout the day in the region. Over a hundred people trapped in houses, vehicles and workplaces due to floods were rescued by fire brigade teams.

RAINFALL AMOUNTED TO 645 MILLIMETRES
According to the data of the Meteorological Department, the amount of precipitation in Pilio exceeded 600 millimetres. In Zagoras, the amount of rainfall from midnight until 15.00 was determined as 645 millimetres. One person lost his life yesterday morning due to flooding. According to local news, 4 people are missing. There is concern that the number of missing people will increase.
