Severe flooding on Lesbos Island has left numerous homes and businesses underwater.
According to Greek state broadcaster ERT, heavy rainfall caused the Chiknias River to overflow, triggering widespread flooding across the island.
The river breached its banks at two separate points, inundating areas including Skala Kallonis and Kalloni. Many homes, workplaces, and schools were affected.
As a result of the floods, several roads have been closed to traffic, and schools in the western part of the island have suspended classes.
