SYRIZA President Stefanos Kasselakis in Cyprus

Greek radio announced that Kasselakis made this claim in a statement to the press after his meeting with Greek Cypriot President Nicos Christodoulides in Southern Cyprus, where he travelled for a 3-day visit.
Expressing support for the initiatives taken by Greek Cypriot President Nicos Christodoulides to restart the Cyprus negotiations, Kasselakis argued that "it is important to restart the negotiations for a solution of a bi-zonal bi-communal federation without Turkish troops, within the framework of UN resolutions and from where they left off in Crans Montana".
Kasselakis said that they also discussed international developments with Christodoulides and emphasised the importance of Greek-Greek coordination and cooperation.
Stefanos Kasselakis claimed that in Turkish-Greek relations, it should be made clear that the work in Pile and Varosha will have a very negative impact on the dialogue.
Christodoulides, on the other hand, stated that the Greek opposition parties expect the continuation of cooperation with the presidents of all parties in general and that "cooperation with SYRIZA, with whom we have common goals and common aspirations, is certain".
This morning Kasselakis visited the Greek Military Cemetery and the graves of EOKA fighters in the prison courtyard and laid a wreath.
