The prolonged severe heat in Greece is disrupting the movement of commuter railways in Patras.

Yesterday the Patras-Rio commuter railways were stopped due to the deformation of the steel rails. OSE workers mobilised today to repair the damage. The workers expressed their surprise, as "this has never happened before". According to EMY's Emergency Weather Bulletin, high temperatures of up to 42°C are expected to continue at least until Friday.
