OXI (NO) Day celebrated with ceremonies in Greece

OXI (NO) Day, one of the national holidays of Greece, was celebrated with ceremonies across the country today.
The "OXI" (NO) Day, the symbol of the victory won as a result of the resistance of the Greek people against the Italian dictator Benito Mussolini's attempt to invade Greece, is celebrated with ceremonies throughout the country every year.
The OXI Day was celebrated with ceremonies again this year. The ceremonies were organised in the capital Athens and in other cities, districts and large villages of the municipalities.
In the ceremonies held in the provinces of Komotini and Xanthi, members of non-governmental organisations carrying out cultural and sporting activities, students from minority and majority schools and soldiers paraded.
Minority people participated in the celebrations in Western Thrace and watched the parades together.
The 28 October OHI Day programme in Komotini started with a religious service in the churches.
Then the officials laid wreaths at the Kılıç Monument in the city centre. Then the protocol members took their places and the parades started. The celebrations ended with the passage of the soldiers.
