Main opposition asks government to call for a ceasefire in Gaza

SYRIZA is concerned about the security situation in Gaza after the Israeli bombardment killed and injured hundreds of Palestinians waiting to receive humanitarian aid, SYRIZA said in a statement.

The statement accused the government of acting as an "ally in all circumstances" instead of demanding a ceasefire.

In the statement in which SYRIZA's support for the Palestinian people was expressed once again, the Israeli attacks that caused civilian deaths in Gaza were condemned.

The statement also called on the government to call for a ceasefire in Gaza.

PASOK also condemns Israeli attacks on civilians

Dimitris Mancos, Foreign Policy Officer of the opposition party Panhellenic Socialist Movement (PASOK), condemned the Israeli attack on Palestinians waiting for humanitarian aid in Gaza and drew attention to the deepening dimensions of the humanitarian tragedy in Gaza.

Mancos stated that they are waiting for a ceasefire call for Gaza from the Greek government.
