'From Türkiye to Greece, from Pop to Folk Songs' concert in Amsterdam
'From Türkiye to Greece, from Pop to Folk Songs' concert organised by Yunus Emre Enstitüsü (YEE) Amsterdam was followed with interest by Turkish, Greek and Dutch music lovers.
In the event organised by YEE Amsterdam in the Concert Hall of OBA Amsterdam Central Library, an orchestra consisting of Turkish and Greek artists gave a concert.
Turkey's Ambassador to The Hague Selçuk Ünal, Consul General of Amsterdam Mahmut Burak Ersoy, Ambassador of Greece to The Hague Caterina Ghini and Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to The Hague Almir Šahović, as well as representatives from the Embassy of Pakistan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands attended the concert.
The orchestra consisting of Turkish and Greek artists performed the songs of Turkish and Greek composers in the languages of both countries in the concert attended by many Turkish, Greek and Dutch music lovers.
Greeting the participants before the concert, Ambassador Ünal stated that this year is very important in the relations between the Netherlands and Turkey and said: "We are celebrating this year as the 100th anniversary of the Netherlands-Turkey Friendship Agreement and the 60th anniversary of the Netherlands-Türkiye Labour Agreement."
Ünal explained that in addition to the labour force provided by the Turks and Greeks coming to the Netherlands, the diplomats of the two countries acted jointly many times in many historical events, especially in the Second World War.

In his speech before the concert, Adil Akaltun, Coordinator of YEE Amsterdam, said: "The commonality of the melodies reflects Yunus Emre's message of universal peace".
Emphasising the deep historical ties between the two countries, Akaltun said: "The Prime Minister of Greece will visit Turkey in a short time, what brings us together in this concert and the common thing that keeps the two countries side by side is to love and understand each other as stated in Yunus Emre's universal message. We need this feeling very much these days."
The event ended with the presentation of flowers to the musicians by the ambassadors.
