Direct Kavala–Berlin flights to launch in summer 2026
Officials reported that the new route is scheduled to operate during the summer months initially. Depending on passenger demand, flight frequency and duration may be expanded in the future.

In addition to the new Berlin route, current seasonal flights include:
Kavala–Düsseldorf: April–October
Kavala–Stuttgart: May–October
Germany is considered a key tourism market for Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, and the expansion of Eurowings’ flight network at Kavala Airport is expected to boost regional tourist activity.
Regional Development and Tourism Strategy
Hristodulos Topsidis, Governor of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, stated:
“Our region is implementing a comprehensive strategy to enhance air connectivity. Our goal is to improve accessibility and extend the tourism season. Through close cooperation with Eurowings, this strategy is now becoming a concrete reality. The launch of the Berlin route, along with extended services to Düsseldorf and Stuttgart, demonstrates our targeted approach and lays a strong foundation for the coming years.”
Topsidis also noted that discussions to strengthen Alexandroupoli (Dedeağaç) Airport are ongoing.
