Travel agencies and airlines expand flights to Greece

Organizations such as Jet2, EasyJet, TUI Group and British Airways announced in London an increase in destinations and available seats to Greece for next year.

Jet2, one of the largest tour operators in the UK market for Greece, announced that in 2027 its capacity will increase by 5%, exceeding 1.9 million seats. The company’s plans foresee up to 366 weekly flights and an expansion of its presence in 28 Greek destinations and 16 airports, with the addition of Kavala to its destinations.

Its executives’ meetings also examined options for expanding flights during the spring and fall.

EasyJet is adding two new flights from the UK to Rhodes and Thessaloniki for 2027, with the London Southend-Rhodes and London Luton-Thessaloniki routes.

This development follows the company’s 9% increase in activity from the British market in 2026, when seven new routes to Greece were added.

Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni in London discussed with the management of EasyJet Holidays strengthening the Kalamata connections and the development of themed tourism to attract visitors throughout the year.

As for TUI Group, it announced new connections for 2027 at its management’s meeting with the minister, with an emphasis on the Gatwick-Athens and Gatwick-Mytilini flights. Talks focused, among other things, on sustainable tourism development and the promotion of local products and gastronomy.

Meanwhile, British Airways announced an increase in passenger traffic on its network to Greece by 4% in January-August, with the total annual traffic showing an increase of 6%.

The airline now maintains connections to 11 Greek destinations that were previously served seasonally, while expanding access options via Athens to nine more areas: Chios, Paros, Milos, Naxos, Alexandroupoli, Mytilini, Samos, Limnos and Ioannina.
