A 4.5-magnitude earthquake struck at 3:23 a.m. local time (0023 GMT) Monday on the Greek island of Evia, north/northwest of Athens, the Athens Institute of Geodynamics has reported.

A 4.5-magnitude earthquake struck at 3:23 a.m. local time (0023 GMT) Monday on the Greek island of Evia, north/northwest of Athens, the Athens Institute of Geodynamics has reported.
The tremor occurred at a depth of 16.9 kilometers, according to the Institute.
It was felt in the capital area. There are no immediate reports of damage.
An aftershock of 3.6-magnitude was registered 20 minutes later.
The area has produced more tremors recently, including a 4.4-magnitude Sunday morning.
