The gender pay gap in Greece remained largely unchanged between 2022 and 2024, according to a new survey released by the Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT).

The data show that men’s gross hourly earnings exceeded women’s by 13.4% in both 2022 and 2024, while the gap stood at 13.6% in 2023.

By sector, the widest pay disparity was recorded in Information and Communication, where women earned between 24.5% and 25.3% less than men over the three-year period. In contrast, the Water Supply, Sewerage, Waste Management and Remediation Activities sector showed a reversed gap, with men earning less than women by 4.8% to 5.5%.

Age-based data reveal the largest gap among workers aged 65 and over, though it narrowed from 27.1% in 2022 to 21.5% in 2024. The under-25 age group again showed a reversed gap, with women earning more than men across all three years.
