Corinth pipeworks secures additional contract for Greece–North Macedonia Gas Pipeline

Cenergy Holdings announced Tuesday that its steel pipes division, Corinth Pipeworks, has secured an additional contract for the landmark Greece–North Macedonia Natural Gas Interconnector project.
The strategic pipeline project, co-developed by the Hellenic Gas Transmission System Operator (DESFA) of Greece and NOMAGAS JSC of North Macedonia, spans 123 kilometers, connecting the natural gas transmission networks of both countries. Of the total length, 55 kilometers in Greece have already been awarded to Corinth Pipeworks. The newly awarded contract covers a portion of the 68-kilometer section in North Macedonia.
The award involves the supply of 28-inch Helical Submerged Arc Welded (HSAW) linepipe, and was granted by Rapid Bild DOO, the main construction contractor in North Macedonia, Cenergy Holdings confirmed.
The interconnector is expected to be fully operational in the first half of 2027. A groundbreaking ceremony held on July 9 highlighted the significance of the project and the shared commitment of both nations to regional energy integration and sustainability.
"This project represents not only an important cross-border collaboration but also a strong step toward decarbonization and energy resilience in Southeast Europe," said Ilias Bekiros, General Manager of Corinth Pipeworks. “We are shaping the future of hydrogen infrastructure.”
Once completed, the interconnector will strengthen energy security, enhance regional connectivity, and support the transition to a low-carbon future across the Balkans.
