AADE to monitor cash registers in near real time
Greece’s Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE) will soon be able to monitor business cash registers almost in real time through an upgraded e-send system that will automatically receive receipt data shortly after transactions are completed.
The new platform will connect businesses’ cash registers, tax electronic mechanisms and point-of-sale (POS) systems directly with AADE, allowing authorities to track retail transactions more quickly and detect suspicious interruptions in receipt issuance.
Faster detection of tax violations
Currently, the e-send system receives receipt information every hour or even every three hours, creating delays in monitoring commercial activity. The upgraded system will provide a more immediate view of transactions and help identify unusual changes in business revenue.
AADE said the new infrastructure will move beyond simple data collection by using automated processing to detect potential tax violations and improve the effectiveness of audits.
