Androulakis underlined the need for a contemporary map and stronger social state
The government has "turned its back on the National Health System (NHS)," PASOK-Movement for Change (KINAL) leader Nikos Androulakis claimed in Komotini on Friday, after meeting with the governor and staff union members of the city hospital.
Androulakis, who is continuing his campaign for leadership at upcoming party elections, added that "millions of Greeks are stressed knowing that public hospital services are being downgraded, despite all efforts by doctors and nurses."
Ruling New Democracy party "is not interested" in the NHS, he insisted. "We shall do whatever we can to end the policy leading public health services to fall apart to the benefit of powerful economic interests," Androulakis said, underlining the need for a contemporary healthcare map and a stronger social state.
The PASOK-KINAL leader also met with Komotini Mayor Yiannis Garanis.
